5 Once you have XWiki [[installed>>Installation]] you'll want to configure it. Configuration can be done in 2 ways:

7 * by stopping the XWiki instance and editing either the ##xwiki/WEB-INF/xwiki.cfg## file or the ##xwiki/WEB-INF/xwiki.properties## one, and then restarting XWiki. Note that ##xwiki.cfg## was the historical file containing configuration option but we're moving away from it and in due time all the XWiki configuration options will be found in ##xwiki.properties##
8 * by logging in as a user with admin rights and going to the Administration page using the top level menu (when using the XWiki 1.0 skin, there's a an "Administration" link in the top right corner of the screen - You can also go directly to ##http:~//localhost:8080/xwiki/bin/admin/XWiki/XWikiPreferences##). This allows to keep the Server running while making the changes.
