Can I provide the line with a length of more than 255 characters in the footer section of XWiki?

The answer is NO.
The Copyright and Version fields displayed in the Presentation Admin section tab have constraints defined in the XWiki database. The mentioned fields are represented by columns webcopyright and version of xwikipreferences table. The value of the string for those can't be over 255.
That's why, if you want to have your own footer representation, you have to control that your string won't have more than 255 chars (including spaces, symbols and letters)
