Lenovo uses XWiki as an on-premises platform to host its technical support community and internal knowledge base. The platform supports over 7,000 users and 7,000 pages, providing access control, content history, attachments, comments, and custom features like ratings and user-friendly login. XWiki is also integrated with third-party analytics tools for performance tracking. The system is designed to be scalable, extensible, and compliant with data privacy regulations such as GDPR.
Description
Lenovo selected XWiki to replace its legacy HCL Connections Cloud platform, facing a tight three-month migration deadline. The migration involved transferring 6,725 pages and 7,000 users, while preserving all key data: content, attachments, history, permissions, and comments. Key custom developments included a simplified email-based login system, reversed comment order, integration with analytics platforms, and data storage using unique identifiers for compliance. Lenovo chose XWiki for its proven migration capabilities, flexible architecture, and collaborative project approach.
