Last year in March we've changed the Download form on XWiki.org.
One change was to move the "XWiki Enterprise Feedback" form from the Download process. If before we asked for the user's feedback after they downloaded, we though that they cannot really answer that question right after download. Ideally, we should request their feedback after 1-3 months of usage.
Although the download process was simplified, one downside was that the visibility for the feedback form was reduced. Since June last year we received 34 responses (20 for 2016, 14 for 2017). One reason for this 'low' number can be the visibility decrease, the form being available just in the panels area.
So we have data for almost 1 year, being able to compare Stable 8.x with Stable 9.x.

In 2016 (until 26.01.2017), the 'LTS' (Long Term Support version) was '7.4.x'; while the 'Stable' was 8.x.
In 2017, the 'LTS' is 8.4.x; while the 'Stable' is 9.x.
We assume that the users entered the relative version to their submission date. We used these version categories in order to simplify the form, but because of this relativeness it's hard to compute exact statistics.
Usability
2016: 8.x - (13 responses)
2017: 9.x - (11 responses)
When comparing the 'Stable' data, we could say that there is a stagnation or a very small improvement, transferring one response to a superior grade.
Simplicity
The stats progression for 'Usability' and 'Simplicity' are very much the same, so the people might consider these criteria to be quite synonymous:

In terms of 'Simplicity' the progression for upper grades is positive, transforming 2 responses.
Design

Again, hard to really say, but we can consider a drop in grades.
Stability

Here we see a small drop in upper grades, but in general the grades are still positive.
Speed

According to the percentages, we might say we also have a drop.
Conclusions
It is kind of hard to assess if the new versions bring positive or negative changes. We see very small improvements / stagnation for Usability and Simplicity; while some small droppage for Design, Stability and Speed. Still the data poll is not that big, I can say that these conclusions are relative. Globally we received big grades for all the surveyed criteria.
